In Usual June, players take control of a girl named June who was supposed to have a quiet summer break working odd jobs and hanging out with friends. Instead, she ends up having to investigate a mystery that is threatening to obliterate her city, all while fighting monsters, talking to ghosts, and canceling a space-time cataclysm.

There are lots of interesting places to explore, such as secret labs, buried tunnels, haunted observatories, abandoned train stations, and a mysterious other world. To save the city, players will have to use both the help of the living and the photographic memories of the dead before time runs out and everything goes quiet forever. There’s a colorful cast of 25 characters, both living and dead, who will help June along the way.

June is able to use melee weapons, super moves, and parries to fight enemies and massive bosses with fast and fluid combat. After earning enough XP, players can level up June to access new projectiles, defenses, summons, and traps.

You can watch the launch date announcement trailer below to see the game’s unique style and gameplay:

Usual June will launch on October 28 on PC via Steam. If you just can’t wait for the game’s release, you can try out the brand new demo right here.

If you’re looking for other ghostly games in the meantime while waiting for Usual June, you can check out our coverage of Seina: A Tale of Spirits, which also has a demo to try, and Fatal Claw, which recently left early access and officially launched this week.
