Transport Fever 3 is set to completely overhaul a bunch of key components from the previous versions, as traffic systems, infrastructure tools, and traffic management will introduce some of the most requested community features. This includes advanced traffic and deeper urban mechanics, with each system working in tandem with one another.

Vehicles will also now react better to their surroundings, changing lanes, overtaking slower traffic, and dynamically choosing the fastest routes. Road construction tools have been completely rebuilt, allowing players to make intersections at any angle, design complex junctions with realistic road markings, fine-tune traffic using full lane controls, pedestrian crossings, and movable traffic lights.

Unlike its predecessors, stations in Transport Fever 3 are fully modular, featuring increased capacity, improved comfort, and extended reach, directly impacting passenger happiness and town growth. It is important to note that any time that you expand infrastructure and increase noise and pollution, players will also have to balance livability.

Rail systems also now feature three different track types, each with unique speed, cost, and pollution characteristics. There is no universal “best” option, so strategy will all depend on choosing the right track for each line, service, and situation. Environmental impact matters more than ever, as noise barriers, tree-lined avenues, and smart routing help counter pollution, but careful implementation, smart planning, and compromise to ensure minimal consequences will need to be measured accordingly.

Lastly, Vehicles degrade over time and while historically, maintenance was solely about costs, poorly maintained vehicles now have actual impact. Not looking after your vehicles causes them to lose speed, comfort, and efficiency, while increasing noise and pollution. Advanced waypointing makes vehicle routing much more flexible. Eliminate noise pollution, take in the sights or simply avoid heavy traffic areas. Aircraft routes can now also be customized giving unparalleled control over players’ airways.

Transport Fever 3 doesn’t have an exact release date yet, but we do know that it will be released in 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
