Splashteam and Dotemu have shared a brand new trailer for their upcoming game Acornia: Mirror Worlds. The game mixes action-adventure shop management with dungeon crawling to create an adorable experience across multiple dimensions.
In Acornia: Mirror Worlds, players step into the paws of a lively patisserie shopkeeper named Alva, who reopens her family’s dessert shop in the once-carefree village of Acornia, which is now plagued by corruption. The town’s inhabitants have been driven away, and parts of Alva’s colorful home have been pulled into a dangerous alternative dimension called Duramen. This dark mirror dimension is full of angry spirits. Alva must restore the village and fight the spirits by spitting treats at them.
The new trailer shows the game’s shop management, as well as baking and farming mechanics that players can enjoy. There are plenty of sweet treats to cook, and the dessert shop’s reputation can grow as it gets to be more popular. The trailer also shows some of the dungeon-crawling gameplay in which Alva uses treats such as cupcakes as projectiles.
There is a clear difference between the light-hearted activities and the darker underworld that players will encounter. Players can switch dimensions at any time to play both sides of a complementary gameloop. In the light dimension, players fill up display cases and plates with desserts. In the dark Duramen dimension, weaponized pastry can be stored in Alva’s bottomless cheek pouches and used to fight the angry spirits.
There are over 25 unique villagers to befriend, each with their own backstory and daily routine in Acornia. Some may visit depending on the season, and there are seasonal events, recipes, and furniture sets.
Acornia: Mirror Worlds will launch on PC, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S in 2027.
