Today, Dovetail Games released a deep dive on the May 2026 roadmap plans for its hit simulation title, Train Sim World 6. A May 2026 Roadmap Livestream has also been planned and will air on the Train Sim World YouTube and Twitch channels at 7 pm BST, where they’ll go through all the roadmap content and answer your questions.
Train Sim World 6 content makes its first stop tomorrow with the release of the GBR Class 802. This add-on features a new look for the iconic Great British Railways Class 802, showcasing a bold new livery that represents the next chapter of rail travel across the UK. You can find out more about the additional timetables and services being added here.
Other major upcoming releases include a slew of add-ons by other well-known developers in the series:
- Thames Valley Branches by Incredible Trains – includes three independent branch lines: Windsor (2 miles), Marlow (7 miles), and Henley (4.5 miles). It features 11 stations and an interactive token system for the Marlow branch.
- Cargo Line Vol. 6 – Gas by Skyhook Games – A new cargo pack; the first ever German release in the series.
- WCML: Trent Valley by All Aboard Studios – A brand new “Coming soon” add-on that will feature more details later this month.
The May content roadmap also provides plenty of in-development updates for the Mildmay Extension, BNSF GP60M, Tadami Line (Aizu-Wakamatsu), and more.
Progress continues on the Richmond extension of The Mildmay Extension, which will add five new stations (Acton Central, South Acton, Gunnersbury, Kew Gardens, and Richmond), as well as the addition of the traction power changeover at Acton Central between 25kV AC overhead and 750V DC third rail. BNSF GP60M is nearing completion of its locomotive, while the Tadami Line has been working on creating region-specific passengers and drivers, who will appear along the route as you ride through the gorgeous greenery and radiant rivers.

Just Trains also provided an update for the Crewe to Preston route, presenting an in-depth screenshot presentation of the upcoming Class 86/4 and our new MK1 RBR, MK2d, and MK2e coaching stock. They are also hard at work on the Cumbrian Coast: Carlisle to Whitehaven, showcasing a brief look at the Dalston station area and a further view of the deep valley between Maryport and Aspatria, while also working on the scenery and the Class 108 DMU.
TSG provided an update for the Neckartalbahn: Heidelberg – Neckarelz, where they’ve added a new boiler simulation for greater control of steam production and support for feed water heaters. The devs are also working on AI improvements and authentic sound recordings for the Add-on as a whole.
Developer VirtuaVia360 has been busy modeling and texturing the EMU 3500, and the work is almost complete for the Lisbon Setúbal Add-on, which showcases the train’s exterior and interior and now features working Passenger Information Systems. Other upcoming DLC that are still in development with no new notes include:
- BNSF Snoot Nose SD40-2 from Adamovic Productions
- Schnellfahrstrecke Nürnberg – Ingolstadt from TSG
- Freightliner BR Class 70 from All Aboard Studios
- DB BR 420 from TSG
Train Sim World 6 will also be implementing plenty of quality-of-life improvements and community events in May. On the performance side of things, work is still underway on Add-on Mounting (primarily PS5) and fixing Blurred Textures. The May 2026 challenges are already live, offering rewards like decals for completing specific XP goals and scenarios, and the theme for this month’s Railshots is “Spring”, with the competition opening on May 6.
