Black Square Announces Cessna 208B Caravan Professional and Rockwell Commander 114 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024
Black Square announced two upcoming aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. The first is the Caravan Professional, a new rendition of the Cessna 208B Grand Caravan.
It’ll actually be split into two packages. The first will include the base Grand Caravan with passenger interior, with and without the cargo pod. The second will include the amphibian and Super Cargomaster variants. A discounted bundle combining both packages for all four variants will be provided.
Those who purchased Black Square’s Analog Caravan will also get a discount.
Unlike Black Square’s Steam Gauge Overhaul packages, this will have completely new exterior models and sound packages.
The aircraft will also come with features like “custom turbine engine simulation, beta range, propeller feathering physics, turbine engine failures, voltage-based light dimming, realistic strobe bounce in clouds, FOD damage, improved environmental simulation, gyroscope physics simulation, and incandescent lighting effects.”
It’ll also have Black Square’s own tablet including allowing to “configure options, set payloads, manage 100+ failures, and monitor real time visualizers for the engine, live electrical schematic, and environmental systems.”
12 hot-swappable avionics configurations will be available including “KLN-90B vintage GPS, or modern GTN/GTNxi 650, alongside the GTN/GTNxi 750, GNS 530/430, and KNS-80.”
Incidentally, the developer is also planning similar “professional” releases for the King Air, Baron, and Bonanza.
The second aircraft announced today is the Rockwell Commander 114 which will come with similar detail as Black Square’s stand-alone aircraft including the physics-driven reciprocating engine simulation, tablet interface, and system visualizer.
The developer also promises new vintage avionics to represent the first production run of the aircraft.
