Today, Ashborne Games released a first look at the scenic environments and bustling medieval life for its upcoming simulation strategy RPG, The Guild – Europa 1410.
The Guild – Europa 1410: The City Showcase highlights the four distinct medieval cities available at launch, each offering unique strategic advantages: Wroclaw (Breslau), Nuremberg, Graz, and Kuttenberg (Kutná Hora).
To start, Wroclaw (Breslau) is a critical trade and commerce hub in Silesia, serving as a center for cultural and religious development. Alternatively, Nuremberg is a powerhouse of the Holy Roman Empire, renowned for its intricate craftsmanship and as a vital trade link between Northern Europe and Italy.
The third city, Graz, is a strategic stronghold controlled by the House of Habsburg, featuring massive fortifications designed to counter Ottoman expansion. Lastly, there’s the Bohemian city Kuttenberg (Kutná Hora), which is home to rich silver mines and is a primary location for players looking to quickly amass wealth through silver production.
The showcase also emphasizes the game’s return to the series’ roots, which is built on the backs of building dynasties. You’ll be able to start as a humble craftsman, priest, or merchant and climb the social ladder to establish a powerful family legacy.
The Guild – Europa 1410 will feature realistic historical details, from bustling marketplaces to town halls, reflecting the city’s growth in response to your economic and political actions. You’ll also be able to master the legal system by charming judges or framing rivals.
High-ranking players can even abuse their powers on the city council to shape laws to their advantage. The game even supports up to 12 players in sessions where you can collaborate, compete, or sabotage rivals through house break-ins, duels, and court battles.
