Navigraph released a new extension for the popular flight planning tool Simbrief for Microsoft Flight Simulator, namely Simbrief Dispatch.
This new extension brings the flight planning tool directly into the simulator’s world map and also while flying, accessible via the toolbar. This removes the requirement to use the web interface to access the tool’s features.
A Navigraph subscription is not required to download the extension from Simbrief, while those who do have a subscription can grab it via the Navigraph hub.
When you’re in the world map of the sim, you can follow the following steps to plan your flight.
- On the World Map screen, you’ll notice a new “SimBrief” button just above the “Fly Now” option.
- Clicking this button opens a SimBrief window within MSFS.
- After logging in, you’ll have access to the familiar SimBrief interface.
- Plan your flight as usual, entering departure, arrival, aircraft type, and other details.
- Generate your flight plan with a single click.
- Use the “Import into Sim” button to seamlessly transfer your route to the MSFS World Map.
Within the simulator, from the toolbar, the extension also allows you to review and modify your flight plan or check performance data.
Interestingly, the tool will also be implemented for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, and it’ll be integrated directly into the new EFB tablet that will be available on all default aircraft, as you can see in the last screenshot in the gallery above.
Microsoft Flight Simulator is currently available for PC and Xbox Series X|S, albeit the Simbrief Dispatch is only available on PC.
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will be released on November 18 for PC and Xbox Series X|S. You can enjoy our hands-on preview with plenty of interesting details for your perusal.
