With the new NPC Passenger System, train cars will be populated with passengers, creating a more authentic public railway experience. Audio immersion is also improved, with in-car announcements, departure chimes, and station sounds that reflect the atmosphere of Japanese railway stations.

A new first-person camera mode lets players leave the driver’s cab and explore train interiors, offering a passenger’s perspective for the first time. The update also brings further performance optimizations and bug fixes, continuing the developer’s focus on stability and gameplay improvements.

Running Train

The developers noted that the August release window is tentative and may shift if technical issues arise before launch. Players interested in Running Train may want to purchase before the update, as the developer has indicated the price could increase after August.

Running Train is a minimalist indie train simulator focused on operating a commuter train across a Japanese-inspired railway. The game emphasizes driving mechanics over management, with players responsible for acceleration, braking, precise station stops, and maintaining smooth operation in a relaxing setting.

An exact release date for the update has not been confirmed, and the launch window may change depending on development progress. For more information on this and other unique transportation sims, like Bus Simulator and Train Sim World, be sure to check back to Simulation Daily for updates.
