Today, Dovetail Games announced that Train Sim World 6: Tadami Line will launch on July 30, 2026.
Train Sim World 6: Tadami Line (Aizu-Wakamatsu – Tadami Route) is being developed by Union Workshop, marking the series’ first appearance in Japan and Asia. Players will travel through the rural landscapes of Fukushima Prefecture aboard the classic KiHa 40 diesel railcar.
The 88-kilometer single-track route runs between Aizu-Wakamatsu and Tadami, passing through mountain valleys, forests, and towns along the Tadami River. You will stop at 28 stations, cross bridges, pass dams, and travel through one of Japan’s most scenic railway corridors.
Union Workshop, known for its work on Train Simulator Classic, is making its Train Sim World debut with this add-on, aiming to capture the atmosphere of rural Japanese rail travel and introduce authentic railway operations to the series.
Train Sim World 6: Tadami Line includes the KiHa 40 diesel railcar in three liveries: JNR Orange, Niigata White and Blue, and Tohoku White and Green. You can operate the train as a single unit or in multiple formations based on service requirements.
It will also include Japanese railway signaling and the ATS safety systems, providing a driving experience different from previous Train Sim World routes, and an in-game tutorial and route introduction help you learn the new operating procedures. The route features seasonal changes, from spring cherry blossoms to snow-covered winter scenery, with five scenarios highlighting different sections of the line and weather conditions, and the timetable recreates daily passenger operations.
The add-on is set before severe flooding in 2011 damaged sections of the Tadami Line and suspended service beyond Aizu-Kawaguchi for more than a decade, allowing players to experience the railway’s complete historic route between Aizu-Wakamatsu and Tadami. In addition to scheduled passenger services, players can explore stations and surrounding towns on foot, create custom operations in Free Roam mode, and use Livery Designer, Formation Designer, and Scenario Planner tools.
Train Sim World 6: Tadami Line: Aizu-Wakamatsu – Tadami Route Add-On launches July 30, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S for $39.99.
