After yesterday’s Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct, Nintendo had another presentation today to showcase games coming to the Switch and Switch 2 over the next few months. Here’s everything that was announced during today’s 47-minute Nintendo Direct.
The Direct opened with a trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds, which will be launching on Nintendo Switch 2 on December 4. Additionally, the Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance expansion will be coming in 2027, with more information coming in the future.
Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, the final part in the three-part saga, will be coming to PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2 on April 8th, 2027. Pre-orders opened up today on the Nintendo eShop.
Then, we learned that Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity will be getting a Definitive Edition coming exclusively to Switch 2. It will have enhanced visuals and improved framerate, and all of the content from the expansion pass will be included in this version. A Calamity Mode has been added as a challenge to face the toughest enemies.
Players who own the Nintendo Switch version can receive a 50% discount on the Switch 2 Definitive Edition version on the eShop, and save data can be transferred.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity Definitive Edition will release on February 25, 2027.
Next, it was announced that Meccha Chameleon, the latest multiplayer phenomenon, is coming to the Switch 2 today. Players can use the console’s touch screen and mouse mode to assist in camouflaging while playing the team-based hide-and-seek game.
Next, we got a look at what’s coming in the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass Part 2, coming off of the Bubbly Basin Part 1. New creatures like Sylveon, Snubbull, Skitty, Doduo, Braixon, and more will be available to find, and players can dress up the Pokémon with accessories like ribbons, bows, and sunglasses.
Part 2 of the Pokopia expansion will release in late 2026, and a third part will come in 2027.
Star Fox, which released earlier this year on the Switch 2, will be getting a free multiplayer update on September 29. This update will offer four-player split-screen mode and new multiplayer stages in Katina, Sector X, and Venom.
That’s not all the Star Fox news during the Direct; Rare’s Star Fox Adventures, which originally released on the GameCube, has been added to Nintendo Switch Online Classics today.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered will be coming to PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 on September 29. This version of the game will have enhanced visuals, support for mouse controls, gyro, and touchscreen support. Additionally, Songs of the Past, a new paid expansion, will be coming next year.
Next, it was announced that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Royal Edition will be coming to the Switch 2 in 2027. This version includes all of the previous DLC and will also have new stories and outfits.
We learned a great deal about Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave during its dedicated Direct last month, but today’s Direct included a short trailer to remind everyone that the game is coming out next week on September 17.
Professor Layton and the New World of Steam finally got a release date. Level-5 treated us to a new trailer and revealed that the game will be launching on the PC, PS5, Switch, and Switch 2 on December 10.
Also by Level-5, Yo-Kai Watch 2: Haunted Domain was revealed to be in development. We got a small glimpse that it exists, with the statement “It’ll take a while meowre.”
Next, we learned that Pikmin 4 will be getting a Switch 2 edition of the game. One of the biggest features to be added is that Oatchi can be given voice commands using the console’s microphone. Additionally, there will be a new mode called Dandori Academy where players can practice for an exam and then compete during the weekend.
Pikmin 4 Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Dandori Academy is releasing on November 12 with a digital upgrade path for Switch 1 owners.
The next announcement was for Onyx: The Dark Grip, which is by the same developer as the Silent Hill 2 remake. This is a new psychological horror game developed exclusively for the Switch 2 using the console’s touch screen to interact with the environment by unlocking doors and reading minds. The game will come out in 2027.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition got another trailer showing off Heroes’ Vault mode. Players can team up with a new hero, Shimmer, who has rapid-fire combos and the Foresight ability. The game will release on December 3 with an upgrade path for Switch 1 digital owners.
The developer behind Overcooked! showed us a new trailer for its cooperative game Stage Fright. Like in Overcooked!, players will have to work together in different dimensions to solve puzzles and escape. Stage Fright releases in 2027.
Disney Dreamlight Valley will be getting a new paid expansion called the Keepsake Sea. Players can transform into a mermaid and explore under the sea, and there are characters to meet like Milo Thatch, Megara, and Jack Sparrow. This expansion will release this November.
The next announcement was for Ondeh Ondeh Kaya’s Tasty Tale, a vibrant musical adventure. Players can join Kaya to explore a whimsical world inspired by the rich cultures of Southeast Asia. The game releases in 2027.
Next, we got a quick look at LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, which will release on September 18.
New Kirby Air Riders amiibo figures were announced. The two new amiibo are based on Sword Kirby & Dragoon, and Noir Dedede & Hydra. Both of these will release on November 12 and are the final amiibo in the Kirby Air Riders series.
Cairn, which released on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox earlier this year, got a Switch 2 release window. It will be available in early 2027, and a demo is available to try out on the eShop today.
Capcom’s remakes of Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4 were shown next, and all three, along with their DLC, are coming to the Switch 2. They will each be available digitally on October 16, with physical versions coming next year on January 29.
Next, we learned that Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, a reimagining of the first game, is confirmed for the Switch 2. It releases on February 12.
Next, we saw another look at Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, which is coming to the Switch 2 on October 22. Extended gameplay was shown in the Treehouse event after the Direct.
Up next, the Direct revealed Metroid Ravenous, a follow-up to Metroid Dread, with an intense trailer. The game will release on January 28, and there’s a special edition available with a steelbook and exclusive amiibo.
A free update to Mario Kart World was announced today. Classic courses from Super Mario Kart are hidden throughout the map and are now playable in VS mode. Additionally, two new routes have been added to Knockout World Tour: Turnip Rally and Propeller Rally.
The next announcement revealed that Proto Man will be joining Mega Man: Dual Override as a playable character. The game releases next year in Spring for PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Switch, and Switch 2, and there are new amiibo featuring both Mega Man and Proto Man.
Next, we got a trailer for the time-travel adventure Eternal Anima. It will be coming to the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Switch 2 next year on March 4, 2027.
We also learned that Danganronpa 2×2 is coming to PC, PS5, Switch, and Switch 2 on January 14, 2027. It will feature the game’s original setting and characters with a new story.
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves was announced to be coming to the Switch 2. It will launch digitally first on October 22, and a physical edition will be coming in January 2027.
Next, we learned that Metal Slug Ultimate Collection is coming to PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and Switch 2 in 2027. This collection contains 10 Metal Slug titles with online multiplayer, an art and music gallery, and, for the first time, the location test version of the original Metal Slug.
The next trailer was for Yu-Gi-Oh! Tag Force GX, which was shown to be coming to the PC, Switch, and Switch 2 on February 16. It features modern visuals, enhanced Dueling, and nostalgic cards from the Yu-Gi-Oh GX anime era.
We saw Romancing SaGa 3: Destinies United next, with a trailer and a release date of February 16.

In the home stretch of the Direct, the penultimate announcement was all about Persona. The highly anticipated remake Persona 4 Revival is coming to Switch 2 next year on May 20. It was also confirmed that Persona 6 is on the way as well.
The final announcement of the Direct was all about Kirby. A brand new 3D adventure is coming in spring 2027 called Kirby and the World Beyond.
There are some Truman Show-esque scenes teasing what the story will be about and a promise that players can explore freely throughout the world. Next year is the 35th anniversary of Kirby, with more to celebrate at that time.
