During the livestreamed event, creative director Tetsuya Fukukara introduced the first sneak peek Galleon, the second character coming in for the game second’s character pass.

She will be released in spring 2025 following Sandalphon.

We already know that after her, we’ll get Wilnas in summer 2025, Meg in fall 2025, and Ilsa in early 2026.

You can check out the sneak peek below.

The tournament was won by Tororo, who conceded only one game to the second-ranked player, Gamera.

Tororo vs Gamera was a situation that repeated itself in many Grand Finals before, but this time around, he managed to defeat Gamera.

The winner also brought home a rather flattering $50,000 prize.

Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising is currently available for PS5, PS4, and PC.

If you’re unfamiliar with it, it’s a fighting game based on the popular mobile game Granblue Fantasy. It was originally released as Granblue Fantasy: Versus in 2020, but Cygames’ esports ambitions were curbed by the outbreak of the pandemic, which basically killed in-person fighting game events for two years.

Yet, the re-release launched successfully in 2023 and has been included in EVO’s main lineup in 2024-it’s returning as a main event for 2025 as well, pretty much crowning its success.

In other fighting game news, earlier today we saw the reveal of the next DLC character for Under Night In-Birth II Sys:Celes, Izumi.
