Today, Hooded Horse, Unfrozen Studio, and Ubisoft announced that Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era has already surpassed 250,00 copies sold via Steam Early Access and PC Game Pass day one.
While this is an impressive figure in itself, the fact that it has already accomplished this in less than 24 hours is a sign that fans are excited for the series’ return. Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era marks the first new Heroes game in over a decade.
The original series was a staple of the strategy genre, with a heavy focus on empire building, epic turn-based tactical battles, and exploration. The next title plans to build on the foundation laid by the original for veterans while also welcoming newcomers.
Players will experience new and classic game modes, allowing them to play solo or with friends. Together, they conquer both procedurally generated and hand-crafted maps, raise magnificent cities, and field massive armies of mythical creatures to vanquish enemies across the narrative campaign.
Each in-game faction will also feature its own distinct units, ranging from armies of vampires and liches to noble griffins to honorable knights. Players will use varied active and passive abilities for each to teleport or summon troops, hamper their opponent’s spells or abilities, and more.
Another impressive accomplishment for Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era is that it has crossed 1.5 million wishlists on Steam, making it the 8th most-wishlisted game prior to launch.
