Today HoYoverse revealed version 5.1 of its popular free-toplay game Genshin Impact, and it’s coming soon.
The new update, which is titled “The Rainbow Destined to Burn” will release on October 9, 2024. It’ll include a significant expansion of the storyline ofdd the new nation Natlan which was opened up to adventurers with version 5.0.
This time around, we get only one new character announced and it’s Xilonen. She’s a 5-star Geo Sword wielder and like all of Natlan’s characters she has some spiffy traversal abilities. Specifically, she can skate and jump along cliffs.
Her special equipment named “Samplers” let her heal and reduce enemies’ Geo resistance. She can also reduce Hydro, Pyro, Cryo, or Electro resistance when working together with a character of that element.
Her event wish will also include Chiori, while the second phase will feature Nahida and Hu Tao.
You can enjoy the trailer with English voices below. If you’d rather hear the Japanese voice-overs, you can find the dedicated trailer on the official YouTube channel.
Of course, the update will come with its usual ration of special events including the Sabzeruz Festival in Sumeru, focusing on Nahida’s birthday.
More features will be introduced and you can find a recap of the update’s features below.
- Continue Natlan’s main storyline with two more acts of the Archon Quest, meeting more key figures including Citlali from the Masters of the Night-Wind
- Arrival of Xilonen as a playable 5-star Geo sword character and a unique support who can provide healing and decrease Elemental RES of enemies when teaming up with Hydro, Pyro, Cryo, or Electro characters.
- Introduction of a seasonal event in Sumeru to celebrate the Sabzeruz Festival and Nahida’s birthday with stories, mini-games, and bonus
- More primogem bonuses upon finishing Natlan’s Archon Quest, World Quest, and exploration progress
- Optimizations for the Spiral Abyss and new Envisaged Echoes challenges giving Zhongli and Keqing’s new echoes
