Today, Pearl Abyss released a preview of the upcoming free content and feature updates for its hit action-RPG, Crimson Desert, which are set to release from April through June for all players.
The majority of these Crimson Desert changes have been shaped by player feedback gathered by the Pearl Abyss team since launch, with the aim of enhancing replayability, improving balance and immersion, and making several features more convenient and intuitive.
Players seeking additional challenges will be excited to see the addition of Boss Rematch and Re-blockading, which enable them to re-challenge previously defeated bosses, and liberated locations may come under blockade again, providing players more opportunities for battle. Speaking of challenges, Easy, Normal, and Hard difficulty options are being added, allowing players to adjust combat difficulty to their preferences.

Enhancements are also planned to improve character balance and immersion, adding new skills for the characters Damiane and Oongka to bring them closer to Kliff’s power level. On the cosmetics front, players will be able to hide back-mounted weapons to maintain visual immersion during gameplay, and new character outfits, including certain outfits previously limited to sale or donation, will be available.
One big quality-of-life change is a specialized storage system. With this, players will be able to have:
- Food storage with direct access to cooking ingredients
- Wardrobe system for outfit and armor organization
- Gatherables storage for materials such as insects, stones, and ores
- Collections storage for quest items, recipes, etc.
The development team is also working on broader system and graphical improvements, including adjustable font sizes, UI enhancements, customization options for certain controller inputs, and expanded configurable keys for mouse and keyboard controls. Lastly, a free soundtrack DLC will be released on Steam, and the official Crimson Desert soundtrack will also become available on major global music platforms.
Crimson Desert is available now for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, starting at $69.99. Be sure to check back to Simulation Daily for more updates, including upcoming patches and possible upcoming DLC or future content roadmap plays from Pearl Abyss.
