SCS Software revealed another look at the upcoming Road Trip expansion for American Truck Simulator, focusing on quick jobs and the dispatch market.
The features exist for trucks as well, and just like with trucks, you don’t need a car to pick up a quick job. The vehicle will be provided for you. Your employer will also pay for fuel and repairs.
You’ll be asked to deliver small packages and documents, or to transfer cars between dealerships. Different cars will be assigned different jobs.
Once you’ve delivered the item, you’ll be rated on Time Management, Vehicle Appearance, and Cargo Handling. Reviews are weighted differently depending on the type of job, and different clients may also put more emphasis on one element or the other.
Keep in mind that Time Management doesn’t mean just arriving on time, as being too early is also rated negatively.
You’ll then be given a star rating that will affect your overall Courier Rating.
The courier rating will in turn affect the missions you get, how far you can travel on a job, and the money you earn.
Getting 5-star ratings consistently builds a Perfect Delivery Streak, which grants even more money.
If you have your own car, you’ll have access to the Dispatch Market, which is similar to the trucks’ Freight Market.

American Truck Simulator is available for PC, and it’s the sister game to Euro Truck Simulator 2. PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions are also coming. Version 1.61 for PC is already available in open beta.
South Dakota is the next DLC and will release on September 24. We already saw its Truck Stops, countryside, towns, cities, more Truck Stops, the road network, more settlements, even more towns, Hot Springs, Badlands National Park, the Industry, Rapid City, Sioux Falls, the Black Hills, Mount Rushmore, Pierre, and plenty of gameplay.
The game will soon cross the borders of the United States and go to Canada with the British Columbia DLC, of which we also saw some screenshots, some of the towns, the tunnels, and Whistler.
Then American Truck Simulator will return to the US with Indiana and North Dakota, on top of a Nevada rework.
Another big project is the Road Trip feature, spearheaded by the Ford Car Pack (of which we also saw the Ford Crown Victoria, the Ford F-150, the Ford Mustang Fastback, and the Ford Bronco Badlands) and the Ram & Dodge Car Pack with the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Widebody, which will expand the simulator’s experience from trucks to cars and pickup trucks, including pure exploration and the delivery of smaller packages.
We also saw the Atlas feature coming with Road Trip and the way you’ll purchase and customize rides.
