Bandai Namco published a message about Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve from Ace Combat brand director Kazutoki Kono.
Following the surprise announcement of the combat flight simulator-lite at The Game Awards, Kono-san mentions that the development team poured its passion and determination into every single shot of the trailer we saw.
That’s the case for every single element of the video, matched with its “heart-stirring music.”
Koni-san also promises to “continue to hone Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve without compromise” until the developers send us “soaring through the skies once more.”

Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve will release in 2026 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
It’s the latest installment of the popular Ace Combat franchise, which culminated a few years ago with Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, that has broken all sales records for the series by shipping over 6 million units, after a period in which it remained dormant.
