Default AI Traffic has always been a rather sore spot in MSFS 2020, and while Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 introduced many awesome models, they have been underutilized by advanced users due to the lack of liveries and the basic implementation of traffic that remains far from perfect.
On top of that, players on Xbox and PS5 had no options for Improvement until now, while users on PC had to resort to third-party solutions to have decent traffic.
BravoAirspace quietly released ATG Airline Traffic Global on the official MSFS 2024 marketplace. It’s a large-scale add-on that adds over 1,000 liveries from over 160 airlines to the excellent default models that already exist in the simulator.
While the basic traffic implementation still has plenty of room for improvement, this could represent a large injection of value for the default dynamic traffic, especially considering that the other big solution for dynamic traffic (FSLTL) is tragically losing that feature.
Those Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 users who want real-world dynamic traffic will likely have to be content with the default traffic, and BravoAirspace’s add-on comes in clutch to save the day, or at least salvage part of it, since it doesn’t solve the foundational problems of the traffic implementation besides the lack of liveries.
ATG is already available for PC and Xbox for approximately $20, and its developers would like to release it on PS5, pending approval from Microsoft.
The video you’ll find below shows what it looks like in a wide variety of airports in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, including how good the coverage is and how it compares with FSLTL and FS traffic, in terms of performance.
We also engage in an extensive discussion on what it would take (especially from Microsoft and Asobo) for the default AI traffic in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 to improve and even become an excellent implementation capable of satisfying both enthusiasts and more casual users.
Please keep in mind that this isn’t a review of ATG Airline Traffic Global, but simply an exploration and showcase of the add-on and its features with a completely unscripted narration.
