Minecraft Gets Lush Bath Bombs In Slightly Peculiar Brand Collaboration

You can craft or buy (with Emeralds) Lush Bath Bombs in Minecraft. No, really.

Brand collaborations always create buzz (admittedly, not always positive) in live service games, bringing them closer to the idea of a Metaverse, and Minecraft is no exception. Yet, the collaboration that Mojang just announced is certainly peculiar.

Microsoft’s blocky and ultra-popular survival game will collaborate with cosmetics brand Lush bringing its popular “Bath Bombs” to the game via a free add-on downloadable from the store.

Players are prompted to search the game’s world for plants, fruits, and clay, and then mix them to create their favorite Bath Bombs among four choices inspired by actual Lush products: Intergalactic, Twilight, Lakes, and Big Blue.

You can check out what they look like in the trailer below.

Each bath bomb has its own effect and you can even throw them at mobs to calm their hostility. When used on players, they have a variety of beneficial effects.

On top of the crafting part (it is Minecraft after all), you can simply purchase the Bath Bombs for Emeralds from a wandering merchant traveling with a sniffer, who is also added by the add-on.

Incidentally, the collaboration goes both ways, as Lush also launched a range of Minecraft-inspired products. At $5.50 for the most affordable, they aren’t even as prohibitively expensive as what one would expect from a brand crossover.

If you’re unfamiliar with Minecraft, it’s currently available on basically every platform with a chip inside. Seriously, I’ve long lost count, but if you have a console, PC, or smartphone, it’s very likely that there is a version of this ultra-popular game for you. It surpassed 300 million copies sold last year.
