The FIA has announced that itās looking for a game development partner to work on a brand-new racing sim title geared specifically toward the 2025 Olympic Esports.
Request for Proposals (RFPs) are being sent out to racing sim developers from the FIA as it looks for a partner. The international governing body of motor sport has big plans to create a title for the Olympic Esports in 2025.
The 2025 Olympic Esports hasnāt released a date yet. However, at most, this means the new partnership has less than 14 months to develop the brand-new title. Realistically, itās much more likely that theyāll have way less time than that. Especially considering the fact that drivers need a chance to race on the sim prior to the Olympic Esports event.
This is a tight timeline, but the FIA is working fast to send out all the RFPs to interested parties. Theyāll all be sent out by October 18, three days after the announcement that the group is looking for a partner.
In these, interested developers will learn how they can be selected, deadlines for the project, legal requirements, and other conditions regarding the development of the racing title.
The goal is to create a ācompelling and top-tier racing titleā that can be used at the highest level of esports. While thereās no news about what games will be included at the Olympic Esports, several groups in the e-racing community (like Para Racers Academy and now the FIA) are hopeful that a racing title will be included.
