The announcement, shared on YouTube by Xbox President Sarah Bond, mentioned that the partnership will last multiple years and that the consoles in questions will both be “in your living room and in your hands.”

Bond adds that together with AMD, Microsoft aims to “advance the state of the art in gaming silicon to deliver the next generation of graphics innovation.”

She also mentioned that it’ll be “enhanced by the power of AI” and will continue to maintain compatibility with the users’ existing library of Xbox games.

Bind then touted Xbox Play Anywhere to deliver an experience “not locked to a single store or tied to one device.”

As such, Xbox is working closely with the Windows team to “ensure that Windows is the number one platform for gaming.”

You can watch the video below.

Interestingly, the video showcased a render of the AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme APU, which powers the Asus ROG Xbox Ally X portable PC presented a few days ago at the Xbox Games Showcase 2025.

No further information was provided, but if you want to learn more about the performance of Xbox, you can check out the latest financials shared by Microsoft, which also include details on the gaming business.

Xbox hardware has not been doing so hot as of late, so it’ll be interesting to see if Microsoft will manage to disrupt the market and regain some ground.
