Go big or go home – that seems to be idea with the Xbox gamescom 2024 announcement. The company is headed to the international event with over 50 games in its pocket.
Xbox announced on Xbox Wire that it’ll return to gamescom this year after a busty Xbox Games Showcase. It plans to have playable versions of several games and updates, including the following:
- Age of Mythology: Retold
- Ara: History Untold
- Fallout 76: Milepost Zero
- Towerbone
Not all the games Xbox is showing off will be playable. It will have a theater for presentations of other games for Avowed, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and Starfield: Shattered Space.
Of course, there will be several photo opportunities for a variety of games as well, like Little Nightmares 3, Doom: The Dark Ages, Sea of Thieves, and Commandos: Origins.
Blizzard will also be accompanying Xbox this year. Both Diable 4: Vessel of Hatred and The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Road updates will have a playable demo and photo opportunity. World of Warcraft players can look forward to content around The War Within as well, with a photo opportunity and immersive experience.
Overwatch 2 will have a booth of its own, where fans can walk through a model of an Overwatch 2 map. Plus, there will be several photo opportunities.
Additionally, Games Pass will have its own area. It’ll mainly have giveaways for things like Nvidia GeForce Now cards, OMEN monitors, HyperX hardware (headsets, keyboards, mice), PC and console storage, cloud gaming devices (Meta Quest headsets, Amazon Fire Sticks), and Game Pass tokens.
Official merch will also be sold at the Gear Shop booth as well.
All Xbox booths will be open for attendees from August 22 to August 25. The hours vary a bit over the day and are as follows:
- August 22: 10am-8pm CEST
- August 23: 10am-8pm CEST
- August 24: 9am-8pm CEST
- August 25: 9am-8pm CEST
Luckily, for those unable to attend gamescom, there will be several broadcasts of everything going on specifically from Xbox and Bethesda each day. The streaming schedule is:
- August 21: Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, Atomfall, Age of Mythology, and more
- August 22: Star Wars Outlaws, World of Warcraft: The War Within, Towerborne, and more
- August 23: Avowed, Ara: History Untold, and more
