Today, Microsoft revealed that select Xbox Insiders can now test a brand-new console preview update, which introduces visual overhauls and highly requested library filters.
For starters, as soon as players open their console, they’ll notice a brand-new boot-up experience. The start-up now features a refreshed startup animation and updated audio and prominently highlights a revised, vibrant green Xbox logo.
The new tiered gamerscore badges have been added to display dynamic milestone badges on player profiles and the Xbox guide. These vanity badges evolve over time based on lifetime gamerscore achievements, ranging from 1K to 10 million, with the only one currently hidden being the last badge (a number only a few people even hold on the console at the moment).

Expanded Library Filters have also been introduced in order to add a critical “Game Access” filtering system. This helps players easily distinguish personal titles from shared games, active Xbox Game Pass titles, or expired, unplayable installations.
The current Xbox Insider Program update is restricted to select testing rings within the Xbox Insider Hub. Microsoft intends to roll these updates out to broader preview rings over the coming weeks before initiating a full public console rollout.
If you aren’t part of the Xbox Insider Program yet and want to help create the future of Xbox and get early access to new features, anyone can join by downloading the Xbox Insider Hub for Xbox Series X|S & Xbox One or Windows PC.
