Ready at Dawn Reportedly Shut Down by Meta
According to a report by Android Central, confirmed by Senior Writer Cory Lanham, Meta has shut down the popular VR studio Ready at Dawn.
The studio, based in Irvine, California, was founded all the way in 2003 by Blizzard veterans Ru Weerasuriya and Andrea Pessino and Naughty Dog veteran Didier Malenfant.
Known for its technical prowess, it created well-loved games for PlayStation Platforms like God of War: Chains of Olympus, God of War: Ghost of Sparta, and The Order: 1886.
The studio then moved to VR development with the highly-acclaimed Lone Echo in 2017. It was acquired by Facebook (now Meta) in 2020 to become part of Oculus Studios.
Yostar Launches in-House Development Studio
Popular mobile publisher Yoshar has announced the launch of an internal development studio with the mission of creating a new mobile IP to “deliver high-quality games to users around the world and provide the innate enjoyment of games.”
Yostar is well-known for publishing super-popular mobile games like Azur Lane, Arknights, and Blue Archive. The new studio has been created with the goal of achieving further growth.
Black Myth: Wukong Reveals Final Tailer Ahead of Release
Chinese developer Game Science revealed a new trailer of its highly-anticipated action RPG Black Myth: Wukong.
This trailer is the final one before release, which will be on August 20 for PS5 and PC (via Steam and Epic Game Store). The game is also coming for Xbox Series X|S, but at a later date.
Incidentally, the footage for the trailer was captured on the PC version.
Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP Shows Gameplay in New Trailer as Pre-Orders Launch
Dragami Games has launched pre-orders of its remaster of Lollipop Chainsaw titled Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, while pre-orders on Nintendo Switch will start tomorrow, August 9.
To celebrate, the developer has launched a trailer showing off both cutscenes and gameplay of this reborn classic. You can watch it above.
Incidentally, the game is also coming for PC via Steam. The release date has recently been moved up (only for the west) to September 12, 2024.
Wuthering Waves Version 1.2 Coming August 15
Kuro Games has revealed that version 1.2 of its free-to-play action RPG Wuthering Waves is coming soon, on August 15
The developer also released a handy trailer illustrating all the content and features coming to the new version.
The game is currently available for PC, iOS, and Android, with a PS5 version officially in development.
Monster Hunter Wilds Showcases the Insect Glaive in Action
Capcom has showcased one of the most peculiar weapons of the Monster Hunter repertoire, which will return in Monster Hunter Wilds.
As the name implies, the Insect Glaive joins a polearm and the power of an insect named Kinsect. The trailer above shows off what it’s capable of.
