Respawn Apologizes for Controversial Apex Legends Battle Pass Changes
Recently, Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment announced changes to the Battle Pass system of the battle royale game Apex Legends that would have launched with Season 22.
The changes basically split the old Premium Battle pass into two, forcing players to purchase it with real money instead of Apex Coins.
This unsurprisingly caused anger in the community and sank the game to “overwhelmingly negative” reviews on Steam.
Today’s announcement includes an apology and the promise of more “timely, transparent, and consistent” communication. On top of that, players will be able to get the Premium Battle Pass for Season 22 Split 1 on August 6 via a series of in-game challenges, while the Premium Battle Pass for Split 2 on September 17 will be available once again via Apex Coins.

- Fixed a bug that led to the character menu being cleared.

Interestingly, the developers also mentioned that the patches “will get more exciting soon.”
New PS5 System Software Beta Brings Remote Play Changes and More
Today Sony Interactive Entertainment announced a new beta of the PS5 system software that will roll out tomorrow.
According to the announcement made on the official PlayStation Blog, participants will be able to test out a few interesting features, starting with personalized 3D Audio profiles for earphones and earbuds. This feature will allow any PS5 model to create profiles to enhance the quality of 3D audio specific to each user.
Changes to Remote Play are also coming, with the ability to select who is able to connect with your console with the feature among your friends and family.
Only beta testers using the newer and slimmer PS5 model will also get adaptive charging for their DualSense controllers, DualSense Edge controllers, PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers, and Access controllers.
This automatically adjusts the time of power supply to your controller depending on what it needs due to its battery level, enabling energy savings.
