Today, Dovetail Games showed off its first-ever Dutch add-on for its hit simulation title, Train Sim World 5, which will transport players across the Netherlands via the Spoorlijn Zwolle – Groningen route. The new location is now available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, and PC (Epic Games Store & Steam) for $39.99.

Train Sim World 5 Spoorlijn Zwolle – Groningen features 107km of track, transporting you through the flat countryside and smaller towns between the cities of Zwolle and Groningen, the capital of the north. The add-on will see players traveling through this terrain in Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS) trains, which boast new safety and signalling systems.

The signaling system is unique to the Dutch and differs considerably from other locations in the world. The safety system (ATB) requires you to master the Automatische Trein Beïnvloeding, which is crucial for safe and efficient operation.

Two iconic Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS) ICMm “Koploper” locomotives are introduced as a part of the add-on, allowing you to experience the unique, elevated, cockpit-style cab with retro dials and a panoramic view for this 70s legend. The SNG Sprinter is another train you’ll be able to test out on the countryside, as its sleek, modern design is perfect for local services.

The route also features plenty of sights to enjoy, including wildlife like storks, meticulously recreated Dutch countryside, and, for the first time in the franchise, cyclists that can be seen riding alongside your train.

The base game of Train Sim World 5—which is required for add-on purchases—is currently available for $49.99 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, and PC (Epic Games Store and Steam). It is just one of the dozen of tracks that have been added to Train Sim World 5 since its release in back in September 2024, including routes in London, Wales, and Mittenwaldbahn.
