Today marks the third day of FlightSimExpo 2026, and flight simulation developers shared plenty of news about aircraft and scenery for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and MSFS 2020,
Simulation Daily publishes a roundup every day for all the news across the flight simulation field, helping you keep up to date with the ins and outs of the industry. Of course, today is going to be much bigger, and the same will go for the next two days.
Before we move on to the flight simulation news, make sure to check out our new video from the “This Week in Flight Simulation News” series to catch up on any big news you may have missed in the past seven days, and today’s episode of our “Can You Guess this Airport?” video series.
Without further ado, I leave you with today’s flight simulation news.
Aerosoft and MK Studios Announce PS5 Version of AirportSim

First of all, we hear that Aerosoft signed a deal with MK Studios to port AirportSim to PS5. The game is already available for PC and Xbox. The PS5 version will come in the fall of 2026, and the collaboration between the two companies will expand beyond that.
Free Airbus A380 by FlyByWire Getting Native MSFS 2024 Version Soon

FlyByWire announced that the team hopes to release the MSFS 2024-native version of its Airbus A380 in the next month or a month and a half, although they can’t promise this, since they work on volunteer time.
It’ll come with lighting improvements and variants with and without the cabin, alongside significant performance improvements.
Miltech Simulations Teases De Havilland Canada DHC-8; Showcases U-2 and Airports

Miltech Simulation started its FlightSimExpo panel with the announcement of two sceneries, Area 51/Tonopah Test Range in collaboration with Sundowners Simulations.
The second scenery, also in collaboration with Sundowners Simulations, is a 1960s version of Berlin Tempelhof Airport.

We then move on to aircraft with the Lockheed U-2. The cockpit is fully functional, and the aircraft will come in three different variants: the U-2S with a digital cockpit, the U-2R with an analog cockpit, and the ER2, which is an R stripped of the military parts by NASA, designed as a high-altitude science lab.
Both the cockpit and the external models are 90% complete, both in terms of modeling and texturing. The package will include 27 liveries, most of which are also complete.
It’ll also include several sceneries, RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus, RAF Fairford in the UK, a 1960s version of Groom Lake in the USA, Patrick Space Force Base, and a fictional airstrip in northern Finland.
The avionics suite for the U-2S includes a CDU, a full MFD glass cockpit with over 35 pages simulated, and RADNAV. The U-2R and ER2 will have a Stormscope, an INS unit, and a camera viewfinder.
The sensors include the camera, the terrain radar, and the weather sensor. A datalink portal will let you download recon images and more.
15 missions will be included alongside chase cars and a spawn anywhere hangar.
The developer then shared its new Experience feature, as follows. It’ll debut with the U-2.

At the end of the panel, the developer teased a De Havilland Canada DHC-8. The version showcased in the tease is the 300 maritime patrol variant by PAL Aerospace. At the moment, we don’t know which other variants will come besides the fact that there will be multiple.

Personally, I wouldn’t hold my breath for a civilian Q400, which is the most popular version of the aircraft, but also very different across the board. Nothing has been confirmed or denied.

Kitadaito Airport for MSFS Gets New Screenshots

Gate15 Scenery released new work-in-progress screenshots of Kitadaito Airport (RORK) in Japan.
We learn that texturing of the terminal has been completed, so the developer expects the remaining work to go by much faster.
Mobile International Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator Gets New Screenshots and Dev Update

Drzewiecki Design released new screenshots and a development update of Mobile International Airport (KBFM) in Alabama, United States.
As usual, we get a development update explaining the progress made this week.
“Recent work focused on several important detail layers across the airport environment. New A320/A321 fuselage elements and static aircraft models have been prepared, while the viaduct in front of the terminal has been completed with additional road markings and lighting details.
The terminal area also moved forward with continued interior-equipment work, while the ATC tower received its interior. New jet bridges and connector structures have been completed, along with additional warehouse buildings and the medical center. Work is also progressing on the highway viaducts around the airport area.
Across the wider scenery, we continued placing service vehicles and ground-handling elements, including newly prepared vehicle models and liveries. Additional work included red obstruction lights, ground layout refinements, and further GND surface adjustments.”
