Open-world survival game Terminator: Survivors was set to hit Early Access on October 24, 2024, but it’s been delayed until 2025.
Nacon, the developer and publisher of the game, announced that Terminator: Survivors needed a bit more time. This is to meet the same quality standards that the franchise expects.
The official statement from CEO and Creative Director Marco Ponte said that the delay “was a tough decision to make.” However, it’s necessary to create the world that fans are expecting.
The Terminator franchise has several movies and games already. However, Terminator: Survivors is the first in its genre, looking to deliver a fun and franchise-expanding tale for players.
The game can be played solo or with friends as players try to survive amid Skynet machines. Players have to scrounge for resources and attempt to create a base for humanity to thrive while surviving. Players will also need to be stealthy when dealing with enemies, utilizing every advantage to revive the human race.
Terminator: Survivors is set four years after Judgement Day. Exploring the world will give more context to the unexplored story in the franchise, and familiar characters will pop up.
Early Access will be PC only, but Terminator: Survivors is set to release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as well. There’s no release window for those consoles yet, but it’ll be after the Early Access period for PC.
