Today Bandai Namco hosted a livestreamed event from Tokyo dedicated to the Sword Art Online series, and we got quite a lot of information and footage about the upcoming console and PC JRPG Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream.

Perhaps one of the most interesting elements revealed during the livestream, so much so that Bandai Namco decided to release a standalone trailer for it, is a minigame that will be included exclusively with the Premium Editions of the game.

It’s titled “Kirito The Hero” and as you can say below, it’s very much inspired by the ultra-popular Vampire Survivors.

Yet, that wasn’t all in terms of reveals. We get to take a look at the two new NPC characters who will be introduced in the game, Fuuka (voiced by Reina Ueda) and Neige (voiced by Mariya Ise), and three of Kirito’s friends who will be playable, Klein, Silica, and Lisbeth.

Klein and Lisbeth will be fighters, while Silica will cover the role of support.

You can see them in action in the clip below.

Plenty of gameplay footage was revealed, including the two characters from Sword Art Online Alternative Gun Gale Online, LLENN and Fukaziroh, on top of the returning Yuuki.

Last, but not least, the theme song for the game was revealed. It’s titled “Watashitachi no Uta” (“Our Song” in Japanese), and you likely won’t be surprised to learn that it’s performed by ReoNa.

You can see it performed below.

Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream will release for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch on October 4, 2024.
