Riot Games and Opera GX have partnered for the League of Legends World Championship, and the gaming browser will undoubtedly be the best place to watch one of the biggest esports competitions in the world.
The two groups have signed a multiyear partnership, and Opera GX will be more involved with the 2024 League of Legends World Championship in several ways.
First, it will be the Presenting Partner for the Worlds Unlocked bundle. This is a bundle of both physical and in-game items specific to Worlds 2024. These physical items are available exclusively in the bundle.
Secondly, a Co-Streamer Hub powered by Opera GX will highlight over 74 streaming channels for the World Championship events. Viewers will be able to browse the co-streamers in one place to easily find a channel they want to view. They’ll be able to filter the channels by language as well.
Lastly, Opera GX will show all Worlds content right on the browser. There will be match info, stats (including more detailed stats than regular), and even digital drops. For anyone looking to keep up with Worlds or even get free LoL content, Opera GX will be the way to go.
The Head of Global Esports Partnerships at Riot Games, David Mulhall, explained why the partnership is perfect for both groups:
“Opera GX is the ideal partner for LoL Esports as they are a brand built for players, by players, and there’s no better time for us to showcase our new collaboration than during Worlds. We’re thrilled for the opportunity that this partnership brings to reimagine what an immersive and dynamic esports fan experience looks like, and we see this year as just scratching the surface of what’s possible for our brands to create together.”
Maciek Kocemba, the Product Director at Opera GX, also has a great outlook on the Riot Games partnership:
“We’re not just another sponsor. We’re gamers ourselves, and we understand the deep connection fans have with their favorite teams and players. Our partnership is about giving power to the communities Riot has built – creating a space where fans can connect, engage, and express their passion in meaningful ways. We’re excited to push the boundaries of what a sponsor can be, and this is just the beginning.”
The 2024 League of Legends World Championship starts on September 25, giving fans plenty of time to install the Opera GX browser.
