Sony Interactive Entertainment aired its latest PlayStation State of Play, focusing on games coming to PS5 in the short and medium (and even a bit longer) term.
Of course, in this multiplatform world, there’s plenty of news for gamers on other platforms as well, although Sony always makes sure to try to obscure that detail during its broadcasts.
Without further ado, here’s a handy recap if you weren’t able to enjoy the State of Play as it happened.
We start with Marvel’s Wolverine, which is coming to PS5 on September 15, 2026.
Next is Ghost of Yōtei Most Wanted, a new combat survival mode coming to the Complete Edition on October 1, 2026.
Then it was time for third-party developers to shine with Capcom, showing off Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, providing a good look at the massive expansion, which is releasing on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5 in 2027.
4A Games showcased Metro 2039 playing on PS5 Pro adn revealed the release date, February 4th 2027 for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5
We then get the reveal of Maneater 2 from TwipWire, coming in 2017 for PS5.
We then get to see Crimson Desert: Charting the Unknown, a DLC coming on October 15, 2026, for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5.
Next on the menu is Final Fantasy Resonance, which just got a demo. The full game is coming out on October 22, 2026 for PC, Xbox Series X|S, PS5, Switch, and Switch 2.
We then get the release date of Gundam: Rogue Orbit from Bandai Namco, coming on March 5th, 2027, for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5.
It’s time for indies, as we take a look at Hunter’s Moon by Twin Swan, coming on October 26, 2026.
Next is Uncanyon from Graceful Decay and Annapurna, coming in 2027 for PC, Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and Switch 2.
The last of the trio of indies is Keeper by Double Fine, out today.
We then move to Konami with Rev. NOiR, showcasing more of the story and gameplay. It’s coming in 2027 for PS5.
Konami had more in store with Rhapsody in Scarlet, coming at some point in the future for PS5.
We get a look at the Saros Zenith update, which is coming later this year for PS5.
Polyphony Digital announced the Spec IV update for Gran Turismo 7.
It’ll come in two parts in October and December, and it will include Sugo Circuit in Japan, alongside the return of Autumn Ring with the original layout and a larger version.
12 new cars will also be included, alongside the online Drift Trials and the Shuffle Races, several features, and Family Mode.
We then got a look at Until Dawn 2, coming on January 28, 2027, for PS5.
Square Enix announced the release date of Final Fantasy VII Revelation, coming on April 8, 2027, for PC, Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC.
We also get an in-depth look at gameplay.
Below, you can watch the recording of the full State of Play, including State of Play Japan, which actually included deep dives into some of the Japanese games showcased today.
That being said, State of Play Japan had its own reveals, including a new look at Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3, coming in 2027 for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5.
Type-Moon and Aniplex presented Fate/Extra Record, which is coming on January 28, 2027, for PC, PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. And yes, the release date is new.
We then take a look at Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World, coming on December 3, 2026, for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.
Next on the menu is from NIS America and Aiming, The Eminence in Shadow: Phantom Echoes, coming in 2027.
We then take a look at a collaboration between Sloclap’s Rematch and the anime Blue Lock.
Cygames announced a new brand, CygamesEdge, with its first game, Where the Seeds Fall, coming on November 5, 2026.
5Min Lab and Krafton showcased WPCA: World Phasebound Control Authority, coming in 2028.
Next is a game we already knew, Gptrack50’s Stupid Never Dies, coming on October 21 for PS5 and PC. A demo is available now.
Nuverse showcased SlashZero, which is coming in Spring 2027, and a demo is available today.
Bandai Namco is back with the first DLC for Echoes of Aincrad, titled Genesis Maidens, and coming this Winter.
We stay with Bandai Namco for another DLC, A Hero’s Eternal Legacy for Digimon Story Time Stranger, coming in 2027.
Next is Athena Games with Conq – Crown Of No Quarter, which is coming in 2027.
Konami is back with the story trailer of Rhapsody in Scarlet, which we saw above.
Rev. NOiR also got its own story trailer.
Next on the menu is Daba: Land of Water Scar by Dark Star, which is part of the China Hero Project. It’s coming in Spring 2027.
While it’s not exactly made in Japan, we take a look at the Ghost of Yōtei story expansion, Echoes of Sekigahara, coming with the Complete Edition. I’m not totally sure having this as the last reveal of the “State of Play Japan” was the best choice, but you do you, Sony.
