The Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta Test Two will feature everything that the original Open Beta Test did, as well as an additional monster. Players will be able to explore the character creator, experience a bit of the story, and hunt a Doshaguma and Gypceros. The Gypceros hunt wasn’t included in the first Open Beta Test, but it’s a returning monster from previous games.

The test will have two waves, and anyone on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC can participate in either one:

  • PT: February 6 at 7 pm to February 9 at 6:59 pm
  • PT: February 13 at 7 pm to February 16 at 6:59 pm

Players can also import their characters from the first Open Beta Test if they like. Plus, any character created during either Open Beta Test will be able to take that character to the game when it fully launches. Of course, this includes the adorable Palico.

Those who take part in either Open Beta Test will receive a few bonuses: an adorable Stuffed Felyne Teddy charm for a weapon or Seikret and an in-game item pack (including Raw Meat x10, Shock Trap x3, Pitfall Trap x3, Tranq Bomb x10, Large Barrel Bomb x3, Armor Sphere x5, Flash Pod x10, and Large Dung Pod x10). These can be redeemed in the full game when it’s launched.

Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto addressed players, explaining that many in the community missed out the first time or simply wanted to play again. Because of this, the Open Beta Test Two was created. However, this means that it’s very similar to the first- there won’t be any adjustments between the two tests.

The developers have been hard at work implementing the feedback from the first Open Beta Test. This includes game performance, weapon changes, and plenty of quality-of-life improvements.

Monster Hunter Wilds is set to release on February 28 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. For players who are unsure about whether or not their PC will run the graphically intense game, Capcom is currently considering a benchmark tool.
