Today storied flight simulation developer PMDG released the first look at the wing model in development for its Boeing 747-100 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
The screenshots were presented by CEO Robert Randazzo himself, with the caveat that these are in-development images and “much of the larger structure hasn’t been properly completed and there remains a ton of work left to do.”
While not final, we get to see plenty of interesting details and we can infer some of the animations that we’ll be able to enjoy when the aircraft is complete.
According to Randazzo himself, you can enjoy “details from the reverse flow vanes in the nacelles, to the operation and actuation of the variable camber leading edge devices, to flaps and the “floppiness” of the wing structure as it moves around and flexes.”
The 747-100 will be one of the first two types to be released in this new product line. The -400 version will include all three engine types and the “classic” side of the line will eventually expand to include the 747-200 and SP.
The -300 and -8 versions will come closer to the end of the development cycle.
