To kick things off, Season Four: Heart of the Dragon will introduce Angela to Marvel Rivals. Angela was once an assassin on Asgard, and her story ties back to Season Zero of Marvel Rivals. Season Four will start tying up some story components that have been around since the game was released, as Doctor Doom continues to try laying out his plans.

Angela is a Vanguard unit who uses a liquid metal (called Ichors) to shape weapons and shields, including a spear and a pair of axes. Her gameplay revolves around disrupting the enemy’s front line by diving to the back and shielding her teammates when they need it.

Players can check out the Marvel Rivals Season Four trailer below, which looks at Angela as she fights against Daredevil, a character who could be coming to the roster later in the season:

Season Four: Heart of the Dragon will also bring a new Convergence mode map to Marvel Rivals, K’un-Lun: Heart of Heaven. The new map will be released on September 25, 2025, a bit later than the rest of Season Four.

There will also be adjustments to the current Team-Ups. One will be removed, one will be added, and two will have new characters added to them.

Dimensional Shortcut (Magik/Black Panther) is being removed. This sends Magik to Arcane Order with Scarlet Witch and Doctor Strange, and Black Panther will go to Gamma Charge with Hulk and Namor.

Arcade Mode is also getting a refresh. Clone Rumble and Giant-Size Brain Blast are coming back to the mode permanently. Free Fight is also coming, which will have no restrictions on duplicate heroes, along with Conquest (Annihilation) Mode, which lets players earn points with KOs. These, along with Conquest (Doom Match) and Clone Rumble, will all be included in the Arcade Mode hub.

Summer Special Volume 2 is also coming around the same time. On September 18, players can look forward to summer skins for Invisible Woman, Wolverine, Mantis, Human Torch, and The Thing.

Other things coming with Season Four include the following:

  • Custom ultimate ability visual effects will be visible to all players (though it will be a toggled ability)
  • New accessories coming for Magneto, Scarlet Witch, Cloak and Dagger, and Luna Snow (September 25)
  • Favorites bar for choosing heroes
  • Slow walking for maximum aura farming
  • Feature to download gallery cards
  • The ability to customize your own chat color and easily use animated emojis in chat (September 18)

The team also spoke about balance changes and how it plans on approaching character and Team-Up balances in the future. Players can check that out below in the Season Four Dev Vision, which also goes over everything covered with the upcoming Marvel Rivals season:

Marvel Rivals Season Four: Heart of the Dragon will be released on September 12, 2025, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
