Today, Frontier Developments revealed the Shonisaurus as the latest of the five prehistoric family units arriving in Jurassic World Evolution 3: Crocodilia Coast DLC.
Shonisaurus was a massive ichthyosaur that lived during the Late Triassic period. In Crocodilia Coast, the prehistoric giant will arrive as part of a full family unit, allowing players to showcase the species alongside its younger offspring.
The latest reveal also provides a look at the juvenile Shonisaurus. Frontier has designed the younger animal to retain the species’ distinctive rounded body shape, while giving it interactions suited to its circular body size and proportions.
Crocodilia Coast is the latest DLC for Jurassic World Evolution 3, expanding the game’s roster with new prehistoric animals and coastal-themed park-building options. The DLC continues the game’s focus on family units and juvenile animals, allowing players to create more dynamic populations within their parks.
The Shonisaurus announcement is also the penultimate species reveal for the DLC, with Frontier set to unveil the final species tomorrow. It joins the Styxosaurus, Deinosuchus, Postosuchus, Desmatosuchus, and Shonisaurus in the DLC.
Jurassic World Evolution 3: Crocodilia Coast launches on August 11, 2026 for $14.99, while the base game is available separately on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The DLC is set to launch alongside the free Update 1.4.1, which is set to feature a new square Hawaii Sandbox map, Workshop Collections support, Elasmosaurus as a family unit, and additional gameplay improvements.
