Today iRacing Motorsport Simulations showcased the new car coming to its racing and esports platform, the Mini Stock.
The Mini Stock does pretty much what it says on the tin, and it’s designed to be a fun introductory car for beginners who want to learn racing on oval tracks.
The best part of the deal is that it comes at no additional cost for all subscribers.
It’ll be released with tomorrow’s Season 4 update that also includes the BMW M4 G82 GT4, the Cadwell Park Circuit, an update to Circuit Zolder, and much more.
The Mini Stock is equipped with a 2.3L inline 4-cylinder engine capable of delivering over 200HP and it’s a fairly light car weighing about 2,350 pounds including the driver. This means that it’s nice and agile on the track.
Speaking of tracks, it comes with variants for both paved ovals and dirt ovals, which is a nice bonus. You can see it in action below.
If you’re unfamiliar with iRacing, it’s a subscription-based online racing simulation platform on PC that originally debuted in 2008 and is considered by many one of the most realistic in the industry. It’s also used by many professional racing drivers to train on its LIDAR-scanned tracks that precisely reproduce their real counterparts.
Not only does it simulate real-world driving as closely as possible, but racing is strictly regulated closely mimicking real motorsports to create a racing environment that is as professional as possible.
iRacing is partnered with several real-world racing series and organizations including NASCAR, IMSA, the FIA, and many more, and it’s also one of the most respected and prestigious esports environments for racing simulation enthusiasts.
