Today, Knights Peak and Windup Games have shared a new deep dive video on their upcoming game Hela: of Mice & Magic ahead of its December 1 release date. Specifically, this deep dive showcases the brewing system and how it’s tied closely to progression.
In Hela: of Mice & Magic’s brewing system, players will be able to craft remedies to help the community, solve puzzles, gain abilities, and unlock new ways to explore the world through the eyes of a mouse. They’ll have to venture through forests, meadows, and wetlands in order to search for ingredients and resources, then use those at the witch’s cottage to create brews. This will aid the people and creatures of the forest and unlock tools called Remedies.
In the game, Remedies will give players new ways to interact with the world, which is inspired by the landscapes of Northern Sweden. This may include discovering new paths, overcoming obstacles, or approaching challenges from a new angle. As such, brewing is strongly tied to the game’s progression system.
Something that makes Hela: of Mice & Magic special is that players will be able to explore the game’s world with a friend in local split-screen, with up to four players in online co-op, or even solo thanks to an ability that allows you to create magical copies of yourself to interact with the world. The player will be given a magical backpack by the witch that allows them to explore further, reach higher, and interact with the world in creative and interesting ways.
You can watch the deep dive on the brewing system in the trailer below.
Hela: of Mice & Magic releases on December 1 on PC, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. A physical version of the game called the Harmony Edition will also be available.
