Today, Rockstar Games introduced the Rockstar Mission Creator to the online version of GTA 5, GTA: Online.
The GTA Online Rockstar Mission Creator is a powerful expansion to the existing suite of tools that allows players to build and share their own narrative-driven story missions. This tool enables the creation of complex experiences featuring cinematic cutscenes, branching objectives, and custom NPC behavior.
Creating your own missions will also grant players access to unique features never before experienced in the online version of the game, like access to new locations. This includes previously restricted areas like the deck of the USS Luxington Aircraft Carrier, the Cluckin’ Bell Factory, and various city banks.

To get you off on the right foot, the Rockstar Mission Creator will have five “Learn the Ropes” tutorial missions:
- Creator Content I – Secure & Deliver
- Creator Content II – Obtain & Impair
- Creator Content III – Stealth Extraction
- Creator Content IV – Thick as Thieves
- Creator Content V – Multiple Choice
These missions can be launched in the jobs menu and will help guide you through stealth mechanics, actor behavior, branching logic, and much more.
Creators whose missions are selected for the Community Series can receive a GTA$10,000,000 award, a unique Rockstar Community Series Varsity Jacket, and an in-game Mansion Trophy. There will also be community spotlight releases that are featured and give players rewards for playing them.
The first release in the Mission Creator will be called “Old School Hits,” and will be developed in collaboration with GTA Series Videos on Facebook. The inaugural mission in the Community Mission Series is inspired by the original Grand Theft Auto trilogy and launches on April 30, 2026, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Playing “Old School Hits” during its featured event week grants 4X GTA$ and RP for a limited time. GTA Online is available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (Windows).
