Microsoft is looking to capitalize on the cool factor of the Japanese setting of the upcoming open-world driving game Forza Horizon 6.
A new series of three videos titled “The Art of Driving” will “explore the art and culture of Japan that infuses the world of Forza Horizon 6.”
It’ll be hosted by renowned car photographer Larry Chen, and will start with the first video tomorrow, April 7.
The three videos will focus on three prominent regions of Japan: the northern Tohoku region, the south-western Kyushu island, and the central Kanto region, where Tokyo is located.
Considering the popularity of Japan, and how highly requested this setting has been pretty much since Forza Horizon existed, we’re certainly not surprised at the attempt to extract every possible ounce of hype from the location’s cool factor.
To whet our palate, a trailer has been release, alternating live-action segments with brief glimpses of gameplay.
Forza Horizon 6 will release for PC and Xbox Series X|S on May 19, 2026. A PS5 version has also been announced, but it’ll come at a later time within 2026. A precise release date for the PS5 version has not been announced.
The game that was officially revealed back in September to celebrate Tokyo Game Show 2025 will finally bring the franchise to Japan, a setting that has been requested by fans pretty much since the first Forza Horizon showcased the potential of open-world racing games.
