Pre-orders for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions are now open, and a new console announcement trailer was released showcasing a first look at gameplay on the open water. Since launching in Steam Early Access on October 7, 2025, Seafarer: The Ship Sim has received major updates that expanded its ships, missions, gameplay systems, and progression.

Seafarer: The Ship Sim The LNG & Bulk Update was one of the first major additions, introducing three new ships: the LNG Nordic Duchess, the Container Big Trip, and the Bulk Willy. Crescentport Logistics expanded with new container operations, bulk cargo gameplay, and liquefied natural gas activities, and added special cranes for large containers, shovel cranes for bulk materials, and new LNG cargo handling features.

The Seafarer: The Ship Sim Immersion Update reworked the opening campaign missions and added a third campaign mission, along with new story-driven characters and animation sequences. Daily challenges, cinematic scenes for new vessels, emergency alarm lighting, and a revamped inspection system brought more variety to patrol missions, and players can now inspect tugboats, ferries, and LNG carriers through security and environmental checks.

The Career Update expanded long-term progression, letting players build careers as captains, trade containers independently, and earn money outside missions. Owned vessels are now long-term investments, and the old experience and level system was replaced with a reputation system that lets players earn port trust and unlock new ships, regions, and opportunities.

Seafarer: The Ship Sim The Career Update also made the world more dynamic: cargo ships now load over several days, port operations continue even when players aren’t involved, and a new shift system lets players choose how actively they participate. Inspection gameplay now includes document checks, technical inspections, crew controls, and safety procedures. The campaign now features Missions 4-6, concluding Teddy’s story with rescue operations and new developments.

Cooperative multiplayer was another major Early Access addition. Up to four players can now sail together, working as a team across cargo transport, patrols, rescue operations, firefighting, and unexpected events between ports.

At full release, Seafarer: The Ship Sim will feature a wide range of vessels and maritime assignments. Players can transport bulk goods, containers, and liquefied gas, and respond to emergencies as part of Coast Guard operations. The game combines accessible ship simulation with a career system, letting players build their reputation, acquire vessels, and take on new challenges across the maritime world.

The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions will launch on September 24 for $34.99. Players who pre-order either console version will receive the Voyager Pack at no additional cost, which includes two additional ships and a selection of cosmetic items for customizing their captain.

Seafarer: The Ship Sim is currently available on PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store in Early Access for $24.99; the PC price will increase to $29.99 upon full release. For more information on this and other Ship simulators, be sure to check back to Simulation Daily for updates.
