Today Square Enix revealed the highly anticipated summer event in its popular MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV, the traditional Moonfire Faire.
As mentioned on the official site, the event will start on August 8 in the usual plaza in Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks just in front of the Maelstrom HQ. It will end on August 26.
Players over level 30 will have to talk to the Lalafell NPC Mayaru Moyaru at the coordinates X11.5 Y13.8 to start the quest.
The rewards for the event are an emote, “Uchiwasshoi,” and the Bouncing Bomb Balloon tabletop furniture item.
You read it correctly: this is one of the rare years in which we receive no summer glamour for Moonfire Faire. As far as I remember, the only other case was in 2021, but at least we received a mount then.
Considering that the theme of the expansion that has just been released is a vacation, it certainly feels odd that we aren’t getting a swimsuit or something of that sort, but what can I say, the powers that be have made their choice.
If you’re unfamiliar with Moonfire Faire, it’s one of the traditional seasonal events in Final Fantasy XIV, having started in 2011 in 1.0, when it was still named Firefall Faire. It was then renamed Moonfire Faire the following year, in 2012, and it has continued ever since.
Final Fantasy XIV is currently available for PC, PS5, PS4, and Xbox Series X|S. The new expansion, titled “Dawntrail” was released earlier this month, and you can read more about it in our article discussing its main character, Wuk Lamat.
Recently, Square Enix also released update 7.05 and changed the rules for the World Visit and the Data Center Travel features.
