Today, EA Sports unveiled the official driver ratings for the next installment in its FIA Formula One World Championship series, F1 25.
To no one’s surprise, Max Verstappen, Lando Norris, and Charles Leclerc lead the pack, with each scoring over 91 based on the ratings criteria. The ratings are based on the following four components:
- Experience (EXP): The number of race starts a driver has over the course of their career
- Racecraft (RAC): The ability to work through the pack and finish in a higher position
- Awareness (AWA): The cleaner the race, the higher the rating
- Pace (PAC): A mix of qualifying and lap times during race weekends, and how they stack up against their teammate in both categories
- Overall Rating (RTG): The combination of the previous four ratings, with Pace having the biggest impact
Real-world data is used to determine each of those criteria, combining recent performances and consultations with a panel of experts to conclude the proper score for each. Ratings will matter now more than ever, thanks to this year’s My Team mode, which lets you choose and manage both drivers to represent your team.
Interestingly, none of the three cover stars made the top three on the ratings list. Carlos Sainz and Lewis Hamilton got a respectable 5th and 6th, while Oscar Piastri and Oliver Bearman are near the middle and bottom of the pack, respectively. You can see the full list of ratings here.
