Euro Truck Simulator 2 was launched a long time ago, but its developers at SCS Software aren’t showing any sign of slowing down in the mission to continuously update and upgrade it.
That’s especially impressive if you consider that this venerable simulator was released almost exactly 12 years ago, and yet, it has been updated so much that it easily stands on par with today’s games.
Today we go forward in time a few months, as a new post on Steam provides a look at what we’re going to enjoy with update 1.53, which is going to include the next phase of the Germany Rework.
Specifically, below you can enjoy a look at the rebuilt München, Mannheim, Leipzig, and Dresden.
Of course, the rework doesn’t just focus on visuals, as new industries will be available to look for jobs.
Euro Truck Simulator 2 is available exclusively for PC. It has recently been updated to version 1.51, with the addition of quite a few features. We already know that version 1.52 will include a spiffy Driving Academy feature that will help aspiring truckers learn the tools of the trade. You can also watch it in action.
The game is also soon to receive a brand new map expansion focusing on Greece.
A few weeks ago, the game was in attendance at IAA Transportation 2024 in Hannover, once more showcasing the inevitable ties between simulation and real-world transportation and logistics.
Its sister game American Truck Simulator just received the Arkansas DLC alongside the much-awaited Mack Pinnacle truck. The addition of Louisiana has also just been teased, while Missouri is coming.
