Today, Euro Truck Simulator 2 developer SCS Software officially released update 1.58 with new features and content.
The update, which has been in beta since January, focuses on polishing game mechanics, updating vehicle physics, and refining the UI.
Driving Academy introduces a new module: Double Trailer Handling. The newest addition to training adds challenges that guide players step by step through forward driving, manoeuvring, and reversing with doubles, inspired by real-world scenarios where you can really put your newly gained skills to the test.

Euro Truck Simulator 2 update 1.58 makes a handful of changes to vehicles, including:
- IVECO S-Way: Added a new 6×2 chassis with a steerable and liftable middle axle.
- Renault Trucks T: New interior updates and camera mirrors.
- Scania R & S: Enhanced with new customization options, bumpers, and fenders.
For the user interface, Route Adviser has been replaced with a modern, widget-based system, and the management screen now features better clarity for Drivers, Trailers, Trucks, and Garages. The tutorial system has also been redesigned so that there are more context clues, making things more user friendly and intuative for new players.
Preparations for the maps are well underway for the upcoming Coach content, so players will notice a number of smaller changes, such as new signs or road markings, as well as larger modifications, including newly added areas in selected cities featuring larger bus stations and terminals. Vehicle physics have been redefined behavior-wise to prepare as well, improving handling for heavy loads, better throttle response, and a new hill start assistant.
If you’re unfamiliar with Euro Truck Simulator 2, it’s a truck-driving simulator available exclusively for PC.
The refresh of the Scandinavia DLC (of which you can enjoy the city of Aarhus) is also being developed alongside the Nordic Horizons DLC, which features unique landscapes, landmarks, cities (Oulu), churches, lakes of Finland, roadside landmarks, and the town of Andenes.
