Euro Truck Simulator 2 developer SCS Software announced that two different kinds of trailers will get upgrades in the next update, 1.61.
The livestock trailer will be completely reworked, with the goal of having a detailed model reproducing what you’ll see on the road.
The older belly axle variant has been removed and replaced with a lowered chassis configuration featuring dual wheels.
There will be multiple customization options, including two chassis variants, a Straight 3 Axle and a Lowered 3 Axle configuration. You’ll also be able to choose between an aluminium body or a fully paintable body.
Accessories will include storage boxes, water tanks, side protections, full side covers, fenders, marker lights, rear bumpers, mudflaps, a spare tire, and a fire extinguisher.
Configurable paint jobs will be added, with four different sections that can be customized.
The Schwarzmüller Trailer Pack is also getting an update. The low-loader trailer has been completely redesigned to match modern real-world models. On top of that, the available accessories have been updated as well.
This is just the beginning of a full rework coming down the line.
Below you can find a few screenshots and a video released on Euro Truck Simulator’s official X (formerly Twitter) account.

If you’re unfamiliar with Euro Truck Simulator 2, it’s a truck-driving simulator available for PC, but PS5 and Xbox versions have been recently announced.
The Iceland DLC was revealed a few months ago, and you can enjoy additional screenshots, in addition to its churches, the Ring Road, the coastlines, Keflavík, the fjords, Akureyri, and the bridges.
Further national DLCs announced focus on Ireland (of which we also saw a few screenshots and an iconic road) and on Turkey.
The development team is also hard at work updating relevant areas of the map, and the next rework focuses on the UK, including the Stonehenge area and Inverness.
Last, but not least, there’s the Coaches DLC, and we recently saw its bus stations, the Scania Touring, passenger satisfaction, the MAN Lion’s Coach, the Volvo 9700 Double Decker, the first gameplay, and the new vehicle features.
