Today, SCS Software revealed a first look at Reykjavík, the capital of its upcoming Euro Truck Simulator 2 Iceland DLC, offering a closer look at the city and its surroundings and showcasing the landmarks, industries, and road networks players can expect to encounter while exploring the island.

The Euro Truck Simulator 2 Iceland expansion will also introduce four new Special Transport routes for owners of the Euro Truck Simulator 2 Special Transport DLC. Located on the Seltjarnarnes peninsula, Reykjavík serves as the heart of Iceland and features a combination of urban environments, coastal scenery and surrounding natural landscapes.

Recreating the capital within Euro Truck Simulator 2’s map scale presented several challenges for the development team, particularly because of the limited space between the city center, its surrounding suburbs and the nearby countryside. SCS Software worked to balance the road network, industrial locations and recognizable landmarks while preserving the surrounding environment.

One major route featured in the expansion is Route 41, which connects Reykjavík with Keflavík. Drivers will travel through the capital past several industrial districts and notable locations before reaching the city’s waterfront. Players can also explore a section of Route 49, which connects Reykjavík to Iceland’s famous Ring Road, known locally as Hringvegur.

The city will feature several industries and delivery destinations representing important parts of Iceland’s economy. These include the Straumsvík aluminium smelter, Iceland’s first and longest-operating aluminium reduction facility, as well as agricultural locations in Mosfellsdalur.

The surrounding suburbs of Garðabær will feature an IKA store and logistics hub, while Sundahöfn will offer a large container port and recycling facility. Additional locations include an oil storage facility, a Volvo truck dealership, a service station, and a garage that players can purchase.

Reykjavík’s waterfront will also feature several recognizable landmarks. Players can spot the Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre, known for its distinctive glass architecture, alongside the Central Bank of Iceland and the harbour’s yellow lighthouses.

Other notable sights include the statue of Ingólfur Arnarson, traditionally recognized as the city’s founder, and the Sun Voyager, a steel sculpture inspired by a Viking ship. The city’s skyline will be dominated by the unmistakable tower of Hallgrímskirkja church, visible from several locations as drivers approach the capital.

Beyond Reykjavík, the Iceland DLC will introduce four new Special Transport routes for players who own the separate Special Transport expansion. These deliveries will involve oversized and heavy cargo, including reservoir tanks, silos, boats, enormous tyres and underground loaders, with professional escort teams helping drivers navigate Iceland’s roads.

The expansion will also introduce the Articulated Dumper, a massive piece of machinery previously available only in American Truck Simulator. The four new Special Transport routes will include Selfoss to Selfoss, Keflavík to Selfoss, Blönduós to Akureyri, and Ólafsvík to Hólmavík. Each journey will present different challenges, requiring players to follow their escort vehicles carefully and take extra precautions when transporting the oversized cargo.

Euro Truck Simulator 2 Iceland DLC launches November 10, 2026, bringing Reykjavík, its surrounding regions, and new delivery opportunities to the simulation. It was revealed a few months ago, and you can enjoy additional screenshots, including its churches, the Ring Road, the coastlines, Keflavík, the fjords, Akureyri, the bridges, and plenty of gameplay.

Further national DLCs announced focus on Ireland (we also saw a few screenshots, an iconic road, and Cavan) and Turkey.

The development team is also hard at work updating relevant areas of the map, and the next rework focuses on the UK, including the Stonehenge area, Inverness, and Bristol.

Last but not least, there’s the Coaches DLC, and we recently saw its bus stations, the Scania Touring, passenger satisfaction, the MAN Lion’s Coach, the Volvo 9700 Double Decker, the first gameplay, the new vehicle features, how to purchase coaches and take on jobs, how to switch modes, tourist jobs, and gameplay of the Scania Touring.
