Dream Dock and Digital Vortex Entertainment have released the demo for their upcoming dark first-person fishing adventure game Dreadmoor ahead of Steam Next Fest. This demo features its own questline and takes place in a remote settlement and its surrounding islands.
Dreadmoor is an atmospheric fishing game set in a flooded world and features skill-based fishing, survival crafting, real-time combat, and exploration. Each of these features will define the player’s journey across the Submerged Land, a land claimed by the sea.
Players will take the helm of a fishing trawler to explore the world flooded by a catastrophic human mistake. To survive, players must travel between scattered settlements, catch fish to trade, upgrade their boat, and craft equipment. There are also mutated creatures in the sea and on land that players will come face to face with.
Beneath the surface are dangerous and rare species to fish up, and players will be able to experiment with different baits while competing with unpredictable forces of nature. While fishing, valuable resources can also be found, with things like scrap metal and blueprints worth their weight in gold. Players can trade in those resources to buy specialized bait, reinforced harpoons, medicine, survival tools, boat upgrades, and other important resources.
You can watch the demo trailer for Dreadmoor below.
While there’s still no set release date for Dreadmoor, the planned launch is still scheduled for Q4 2026. That being said, the demo is available on Steam right now for those who can’t wait to try it out. The game is planned to release exclusively on PC via Steam.
