Eagle Dynamics and partner developer Grinnelli Designs announced that the latter’s vintage fighter jet F-100D Super Sabre for DCS World is “nearing release.”
The Vietnam-era fighter has completed “major” development milestones and is in its “final preparation stages.”
The aircraft features detailed textures and precise 3D modeling based on high-fidelity photogrammetry scans of an actual F-100D, so “all surface details, panel lines, and rivets are consistent with the original aircraft.”
The package will include plenty of historically accurate liveries, including USAF training squadrons and Vietnam War combat squadrons.
All core systems have been completed, and the flight model is in the final phase of tuning, with ED and Grinnelli Designs working together on the F-100D’s unique handling, with impressive high-speed performance and tricky low-speed behaviour.
The damage model is currently being finished and the audio team is integrating recording from a real airframe. As a result, the aircraft is already being tested internally in DCS World at Eagle Dynamics.

If you’re unfamiliar with DCS World, it’s a free-to-play flight simulator focusing on military aviation from World War 2 to the present day. It’s available exclusively for PC.
While the sim is free-to-play, it pretty much requires paid modules be fully enjoyed, including aircraft, campaigns, and maps. That being said, Eagle Dynamics has a robust free trial program for said modules.
Recently, the MiG-29A Fulcrum has also been released in early access, followed by the C-130J Hercules, while a new map for the Balkans has been announced.
We also just got the “2026 and Beyond” trailer with the reveal of the Rafale by Hearblur, which is also working on an Eurofighter Typhoon.
