Atelier Yumia was first teased last week at the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase. The story follows Yumia, an alchemist from the remains Aladissian Empire. The empire fell unexpectedly after thriving on alchemy, and the remains of its civilization now consider alchemy a taboo art.

Yumia and her traveling companions search for the truth about the empire’s past, learning secrets and unveiling lost memories. After Yumia’s mother’s death, the alchemist is hyper-focused on learning and deciding what is right for her. Learning the secrets about her mother, who was also an alchemist, is another focal point of Yumia’s journey.

Yumia’s companions include Viktor von Duerer and Isla von Duerer, siblings who are a part of the Aladiss Research Team. Others are shown joining them, including Flammi, Rutger Arendt, Nina Friede, and Lenja.

Fans can see a bit about the story and characters in the trailer below:

Besides traveling the land and fighting enemies, series veterans can look forward to a big change and new feature. First, players can synthesize simple things without going all the way to their base. Speaking of bases, players will be able to decorate and customize their bases for the first time in the series.

For a quick glimpse at the story, characters, and gameplay breakdowns, fans can view the trailer below. The new Simple Synthesize and building gameplay is included:
