As part of the transition, Arc Games will maintain its existing organizational structure, with CEO Yoon Im and the company’s full team maintaining their positions. When commenting on the split, Yoon spoke about the exciting new strategic chapter the now independent publisher will be embarking on:

“This milestone marks a major new chapter for Arc Games,” said Yoon . “We appreciate our time being part of Embracer Group and the accomplishments achieved since the company’s inception over 15 years ago. These experiences have shaped who we are today. As an independent publisher, we are now positioned to more fully pursue our vision—collaborating with exceptional developers worldwide and bringing standout games to market. 2026 is already shaping up to be one of the most ambitious and innovative years in our history, and we are excited for what lies ahead.”

Originally founded in 2008 as Perfect World Entertainment, Arc Games has been a pillar of the AA and indie game market for PC and console for well over a decade. The company has been responsible for supporting live service titles like Neverwinter and Star Trek Online, while also helping release other hit AA games, including Remnant II, Remnant: From the Ashes, the Torchlight franchise, Fellowship, Frosthaven, and Have a Nice Death.

XD Inc., an investment company based in China, is helping fund Arc Games’ jump into independent video game development, aiming to accelerate a robust slate of unannounced titles, new AA and indie publishing partnerships, and ongoing support for its current portfolio. The developer promises to maintain its mission statement and continue advancing and delivering high-quality, innovative games to players around the world.

While the specific games that are in development haven’t been revealed, it does look like the Remnant franchise will be staying with Embracer, which makes sense, since developer Gunfire Games is owned by the group.
