Koei Tecmo revealed the fifth character who will be featured in its upcoming dating simulator Venus Vacation Prism – Dead or Alive Xtreme, and it’s Honoka.
The choice is interesting considering that Honoka is the first chosen girl in the dating sim who originated from the fighting game series and not from the free-to-play spin-off Dead or Alive Xtreme: Venus Vacation.
She debuted in the Dead or Alive fighting game series, albeit she’s not one of its veteran fighters, having first appeared in Dead or Alive 5 Last Round in 2015.
The four ladies previously announced for Venus Vacation Prism all debited in Dead or Alive Xtreme: Venus Vacation, Misaki(who was the protagonist of the original announcement) Elise, Fiona, and Tamaki.
You can check out the introduction trailer announcing Honoka below.
At this point, we don’t know whether the sixth and last lady will come from the spin-offs or the main fighting series. Before Honoka’s announcement, many fans theorized that all of the heroines would come from Venus Vacation, but today’s announcement disproves that theory.
We’ll know next week when the lineup will be completed.
Unfortunately, while the game will release in early 2025 for PC, PS5, and PS4, and will include an English localization, Koei Tecmo appears to intend to officially launch it only in Japan and Asia.
Not only the Steam page remains geo-locked when accessed from North America and Europe, but yesterday’s financial presentation by the company confirmed that no European and North American launch is planned.
Of course, many fans already know how to access geolocked games, considering that they have plated DOAX Venus Vacation for years. The English localization will certainly ensure that the game will have a following on this side of the Pacific Ocean as well.
